Never, never give up” simple but effective words on a card that I bought that inspired me to set up Hadrian’s Recruitment and my mantra.
With nearly 20 years recruitment industry experience (which I’m taking as a positive and not over the hill by any means!) derived from working for one of the North East’s largest recruitment brands delivering local and national Contact Centre and Industrial high volume resourcing solutions to businesses coupled with more recent NHS national recruitment delivery experience my personal experience and knowledge is unrivalled.
My personal aim at the outset and still is simple – To continue doing what I love doing best and do more of it – building a team and strong brand that gains recognition for its unique personal approach, real flexibility – we actually work when you need us to work and that goes for candidates and client alike (working 9-5pm is so last century didn’t you know?) all delivered through a customer service journey that we aim will be remembered (for the right reasons!)
How do I know that our approach works? So far all of our work has come from personal referrals – nearly 70% of this was candidates whom we’d placed into senior roles that subsequently became our clients who then in turn have provided further referrals and additional new clients. Long may this approach continue!
And when I’m not working? The million dollar question – Yes- I do have a better balanced work/life balance now and a 2 minute commute to the office over the road to ‘HR HQ’ rather than 100+ miles every day drive up and down the A1! I do have to pinch myself from time to time still when I realise how lucky I am!
I spend the rest of my time juggling life as a busy Mum with my two children Isabella & Henry along with the family black Labrador Nelly, we walk, we bake cakes and we have basically have fun and enjoy life much more now than ever before! When I do finally get some quality me time, I enjoy time with my significant other, we have been known from time to time to enjoy a few sneaky days away when we can, eating out and visiting a few local public houses (just for quality checking purposes obviously!)
