Northumberland CBT provides cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for people experiencing generalised anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and depression.
CBT is an evidence-based psychological therapy recommended by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE).
CBT is a structured psychological therapy that focuses on helping people to develop a better understanding of their difficulties and learn new ways of thinking and acting, in order to reduce emotional distress and to improve the quality of their lives. It emphasises a partnership between patient and therapist, who work together to tackle problems and progress towards agreed goals.
The clinic is based in Morpeth and is delivered by Mark Latham, who is accredited as a practitioner, supervisor, and trainer by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). He has a special interest in helping people suffering from OCD and PTSD.
Mark also provides clinical supervision and training in CBT for health professionals.
